Ark is an international charity, comprising 38 primary, secondary and sixth form schools around the UK. It is now recognised as one of the highest achieving academies in the country.
With strong ethics, they have an incredible programme for developing their teachers and now offer programmes to other teachers and school leaders across the UK. They are also very keen to develop their non-teaching staff, so training days incorporate suitable programmes for them to attend too.
Our work with Ark
Working in partnership with the Head Office, as well as directly with individual schools themselves, we have built a strong partnership for training operational staff in Ark’s primary, secondary and sixth form schools, delivering training courses at schools in Birmingham, London, Hastings and Portsmouth. Courses have included Customer Service, Handling Difficult People, Positive Working Relationships, Time Management, Working in a Team and Microsoft Office sessions.
Example training project
One example of this partnership was working with members of the SLT in one of their London schools to put together a Team Building training day for all their operations staff, specifically to develop a code of practice for effective working in the school.
Using the school’s current policy and their “wishlist”, we put together a course, combining theory, workshop sessions and fun activities.
With a motivating introduction from the Head Teacher, participants worked really well together throughout the day to achieve the objectives set and feedback was extremely positive from all participants and the management staff.
