Thyssenkrupp Materials (UK), based in Cradley Heath in the West Midlands, is part of the world-renowned thyssenkrupp AG and are global leaders in metals and plastics stockholding, along with distribution.

They have six regional warehouses and processing centres around England and in Belfast.

Project Overview

Thyssenkrupp logoThe organisation wanted to introduce a new vision for their division and decided to bring employees on board from the start to contribute their thoughts and ideas. They carried out an internal survey and representatives of each department collated responses prior to us running an Employee Forum for them.

Solutions

Working with the HR team and one of the directors we designed a programme to introduce staff to the concept and to gain their feedback and commitment.

In designing the programme, we included team building activities, customer service exercises, and various other activities to gain feedback from the surveys, and to garner their input on how to take the company forward.

We then facilitated a two-day Employee Forum at Woodland Grange in Leamington Spa, which included the employee representatives from departments throughout the division, plus the HR team. The Directors joined the session on the second day to receive input and to participate themselves.

Outcome

Everyone participated very enthusiastically and the whole event was heralded a great success, by both the employee representatives and senior management. Lots of useful feedback and valuable ideas were generated by the Forum for the company to take back and work with.
